The Bureau

The people behind The Bureau

A small team, deliberately so — each member known to you by name, and each of your houses known to us in return.

Angela Davis

Founder & Principal

I founded The Cotswold Bureau after decades spent looking after people properly — running hotels, restaurants, private events and weddings, and, most recently, Independent Schools where discretion and quiet attentiveness to a family's expectations mattered as much as anything on paper. I know what a family in your position expects, because I've spent a career providing it. We are deliberately small, and intend to stay that way. Each household is looked after under a written, standing brief — kept current, and acted upon without needing to be asked twice. We take on a limited number of families each season, so that the attention we give never thins. If that feels right for your home, I'd be glad to talk it through.

The Engagement

Four conversations

I.

Introduction

A private call, however you found us. We ask about your house, and just as importantly, listen to what matters to you.

II.

The Brief

A written standing brief — your preferences, routines, and recurring tasks, along with who to call if something needs fixing, and how you like the house to feel when you arrive.

III.

First Arrival

We meet at the house. Keys exchanged, systems learned, cupboards and utilities talked through, so nothing's a mystery the next time we're there without you.

IV.

Ongoing

A quiet update each month, and a proper catch-up once a year.

We used to lose our Friday evenings to the to-do list. Now the house is breathing when we walk in, and the weekend belongs to us again.
